General Lending Lawyer
Axiom is seeking a General Lending Lawyer to provide practical, business-focused legal advice on a variety of lending transactions, including syndicated and bilateral loan arrangements. The role involves acting for lenders, borrowers, and institutional clients across multiple sectors.
Key responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and reviewing loan documentation such as loan agreements, facility agreements, security documentation, intercreditor agreements, and ancillary financing documents. The lawyer will support clients on complex financial transactions and debt finance matters, ensuring compliance with commercial and regulatory requirements. Managing domestic and cross-border lending transactions, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external counsel, and providing practical, commercially focused legal advice throughout the transaction lifecycle are also essential duties.
The ideal candidate should be a qualified lawyer eligible to practice in the UK with the right to work in the UK. They should have private practice experience within a Banking & Finance team, focusing on general lending and loan documentation. Experience advising on facility agreements, secured lending, bilateral and syndicated loans, intercreditor agreements, and security documentation is required. Experience gained at leading law firms; in-house or secondment experience is advantageous but not essential. Strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships while delivering pragmatic legal solutions are essential.
