Global IP Paralegal
ASM is seeking a Global IP Paralegal to join their team in Hwaseong, South Korea. This role involves collaborating with IP Managers across Finland, Belgium, and the United States, reporting to the Senior Manager of Global Legal and IP Operations based in the U.S. The position offers a dynamic environment within a company at the forefront of semiconductor innovation.
Key responsibilities include managing patent and trademark prosecution filings across U.S. and international jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with all formalities and documentation requirements related to IP filings, and maintaining and updating IP docketing systems for pending applications globally. The role also involves generating and analyzing reports, dockets, and relevant IP metrics to support strategic decision-making, collaborating closely with IP Managers and legal professionals across multiple time zones, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the IP operations team.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in an associated or complementary academic field and have 5-10 years of experience in patent and trademark prosecution, preferably in a global or multinational environment. A strong understanding of patent and trademark filing and prosecution procedures, formalities, and documentation requirements is essential. The role requires strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently under continuous deadlines while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint) is required, and fluency in English is necessary.
