Canonical is seeking a Golang Engineering Manager to lead the development of internal products within its Commercial Systems unit. This role involves managing a team of software engineers focused on building and operating services critical to Canonical's business operations. The position is remote, based in the EMEA region, and offers an opportunity to work on innovative open-source solutions supporting the company's growth.

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the design and development of internal products, leading a team of Golang developers, and enhancing the skills and capabilities of direct reports. Key responsibilities include improving existing processes, designs, and solutions, as well as understanding business needs to deliver impactful results. The role also entails ensuring high engineering quality standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Candidates should have an exceptional academic track record, including an undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling alternative narrative. A proven history of exceeding expectations to achieve outstanding results is essential. Experience with software development in a high-level language such as Golang, Python, or Java is required. Additionally, candidates must possess professional written and spoken English skills, be result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments, and have the ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events lasting up to two weeks.
