Golang Software Engineer, Commercial Systems
Canonical is seeking a Golang Software Engineer to join its Commercial Systems unit, a team integral to the company's operations. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely within the EMEA region, contributing to the development and maintenance of services that support Canonical's business functions. The position is ideal for individuals passionate about open-source technologies and eager to engage with a globally distributed team.
As a Golang Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing engineering solutions using Golang, leading technical designs, conducting code reviews, and implementing new features. Your day-to-day activities will include deploying and operating services developed by the team, mentoring colleagues, and promoting best engineering and organizational practices. Collaboration with other engineering and business teams will be essential to ensure the seamless integration and functionality of the services.
The ideal candidate will possess an exceptional academic track record, including an undergraduate degree in a technical field or a compelling alternative narrative. A proven history of exceeding expectations to achieve outstanding results is essential. Experience in software development with Golang, professional proficiency in written and spoken English, and a result-oriented mindset with a personal drive to meet commitments are required. Additionally, the ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events, each lasting up to two weeks, is necessary.
