Head of DBA
BrainRocket is seeking an experienced Head of Database Administration (DBA) to lead and expand our database team in Valencia, Spain. As a global company specializing in end-to-end tech products for Fintech, iGaming, and Marketing sectors, we have rapidly grown across multiple countries, including Cyprus, Malta, Portugal, Poland, and Serbia. In this role, you will oversee a diverse database ecosystem, ensuring its stability, scalability, and performance. Your primary responsibilities will include leading and managing a growing DBA team, currently comprising five members with ongoing recruitment efforts. You will be responsible for the performance, availability, backup, and disaster recovery of more than 100 database servers, including several high-load systems. Collaboration with development teams, solution architects, and data analysts will be essential to maintain database reliability and efficiency. Additionally, you will drive the adoption of modern practices for database management, migrations, automation, and process standardization, as well as evaluate and implement new technologies to meet evolving business needs.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing large-scale, high-availability database infrastructures and possess strong leadership and people management skills. Experience working across cloud, on-premises, and containerized environments, particularly with Kubernetes, is essential. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are also required to succeed in this role.
