Information Security Analyst
Betterment is seeking an Information Security Analyst to join our Govern & Control team, a dedicated second line-of-defense unit integrated within our broader security program. Reporting to the Director of Information Security, this role collaborates closely with engineering security teams, various business lines, and risk management departments, including Compliance and Legal. As a technology-driven financial services company, maintaining robust information security is essential to uphold the trust of our clients, investors, and regulators.
The Information Security Analyst will be responsible for executing a range of governance, risk, and compliance activities. Key duties include conducting risk assessments for SaaS applications, advising application owners on implementing strong logical access controls, monitoring and reporting on vulnerability remediation, and gathering evidence to support audits and examinations. The role also involves performing due diligence and ongoing monitoring of third-party relationships and applications to evaluate associated security risks.
Candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in technology operations, technology audit, or governance, risk, and compliance (GRC). Essential qualifications include a solid understanding of security risk management principles, familiarity with security controls applicable to cloud computing and third-party SaaS applications, and experience in operating security controls within IT operations or audit roles. Proficiency in learning new skills through research and the use of AI and automation tools is also desired.
This position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $115,000 to $125,000, with potential eligibility for variable compensation in the form of a company incentive bonus.
