Betterment is seeking a Senior Manager of Broker-Dealer Financial Operations and Controls to oversee and manage all financial and operational aspects of our broker-dealer business. This role is integral to ensuring compliance with industry regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, and optimizing operational processes to support our growth. The position is based in our New York City office, with in-office attendance required Monday through Thursday each week.

Key responsibilities include completing and overseeing daily reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies, monitoring firm liquidity and net capital, and overseeing all transactional processes, including money movements and securities processing. The role also involves enhancing, implementing, and executing additional controls related to broker-dealer compliance, preparing and filing various financial reports, and acting as the main point of contact with auditors for annual broker-dealer reviews.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, a CPA License Series 27 or the ability to rapidly obtain it, and a minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience in public accounting, preferably in audit. Strong experience with financial reporting, the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Experience working with a FINOP at a broker-dealer or clearing firm is a plus.

Compensation for this role ranges from $135,000 to $160,000 annually, depending on factors such as location, experience, and performance.
