The Information Security Analyst at Verra Mobility is responsible for monitoring the organization's networks and systems to detect security breaches and suspicious activities. This role involves conducting regular assessments, responding to incidents by investigating and mitigating threats, and maintaining and updating security tools and software to protect data. Additionally, the analyst will document security incidents and prepare reports to inform management about potential risks, as well as evaluate and improve existing security-related processes and procedures.

Key responsibilities include monitoring log and event outputs from multiple information security tools such as SIEM technology, firewalls, networks, secure web/email proxies, threat intelligence platforms, and end-user security platforms. The analyst will investigate anomalies, respond according to established standard operating procedures, perform routine but critical information security technology tasks, participate and lead security incident response procedures, process information security policy changes, research trending threats, and provide regular reports with accompanying security tools impact analyses. Furthermore, the analyst will act as a technical resource during internal and external audit engagements, educate employees in information security best practices, stay abreast of developments in the information security industry, take initiative on leading security-related projects, and represent the information security team on cross-team cooperative projects with other shared service organizations.

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a High School Diploma/GED with appropriate on-the-job experience in information technology and/or information security. A minimum of one year of experience as an information security analyst or two years in a technical-focused IT role is required. The candidate must have the ability to deal with changing priorities, multi-task several projects, identify compromised systems, and lead remediation efforts. Excellent presentation and communication skills, demonstrable verbal and written communication experience, detail-oriented nature, ability to work well in a team environment, a hunger to learn, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. The candidate must be located in Arizona, Florida, New York, or Indianapolis and willing to commute three days into the office.

Preferred qualifications include experience with using and/or managing a commercial SIEM, working knowledge of basic information security concepts, familiarity with common security technologies such as anti-virus, firewalls, DLP, web content filters, proxy servers, intrusion prevention systems, Windows event logging, and syslog. Candidates should also be familiar with networking fundamentals and have a basic to intermediate understanding of common network and application layer protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SMTP, and FTP. Information Security certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, GCED, Security+, and other entry-level IT certifications like Network+ and Linux+ are a plus.
