Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney

Wilson Elser's Chicago office is seeking an Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney to join their team. The firm, established in 1978, is a leading defense litigation law firm with over 1,400 attorneys across 46 offices in the United States. This position offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement, providing balance that supports professional growth and personal commitments.

The associate will work closely with other attorneys and partners on insurance coverage matters. Responsibilities include drafting coverage opinion letters, pleadings, and motions, handling discovery in coverage litigation, and providing clients with insurance coverage advice on various subjects. Effective communication with clients and drafting reports are also key aspects of the role.

Candidates must have a JD from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice in the State of Illinois. A minimum of 4 years of coverage litigation experience is required, with expertise in areas such as Commercial General Liability (CGL) and property insurance. Experience in both third-party and first-party claims, along with strong analytical and communication skills, is essential.

The position offers a salary range of $160,000 to $170,000 annually, along with discretionary bonuses.
