Insurance Credit Analyst / Senior Analyst (NY)
Kroll Bond Rating Agency, LLC (KBRA) is seeking an Analyst/Senior Analyst to join its rapidly expanding Insurance ratings team. This dynamic and high-energy professional will support all aspects of the credit ratings process for insurance companies and associated debt issuances. KBRA’s extensive and growing portfolio includes companies across all sectors of the global insurance sector, including property/casualty, life, annuity, and reinsurance. The position is based out of KBRA’s New York City office.
The successful candidate will assist with all aspects of the credit ratings process, including preparation of quantitative and qualitative analysis and active participation in team discussions. Responsibilities include developing rating and analytical tools to support financial statement analysis and evaluating debt instruments. The role also involves participating in on-site diligence meetings with management teams to assess their investment expertise, risk management skills, operational processes, and overall ability to develop and successfully execute strategies. Additionally, the candidate will develop and maintain complex spreadsheets and databases, collaborate with KBRA experts in other sectors, and assist in research for internal and external publication purposes.
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Math-related fields or any subject that requires strong analytical skills. For the Analyst level, zero to two years of experience in insurance, financial institutions, credit risk, or fixed income investing is required. For the Senior Analyst level, a minimum of two plus years of experience as an analyst in these areas is necessary. The role demands the ability to work as an integral part of a highly collaborative team and across disciplines in a challenging and dynamic environment. Strong time management skills, clear and concise writing abilities, effective verbal communication skills, advanced proficiency in Excel, and extremely high attention to detail are essential. Familiarity with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and general productivity is a plus.
The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000 to $95,000. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
