As a Junior Software Engineer at Awin, you will join a cross-functional, customer-focused team dedicated to enhancing and evolving our platform for publishers and creators. Your role involves writing clean, secure, and well-tested code across both backend and frontend layers, contributing to scalable services and user-facing applications. A key aspect of this position is your active involvement in the primary backend team powering the Awin Mobile App, where you will help build and support new features that directly impact our mobile users.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating closely with Product Managers and Designers to understand user needs and translating them into practical technical solutions. You will participate in the full software lifecycle, from development and deployment to monitoring and continuous improvement. Additionally, you will proactively identify risks, contribute to solving evolving business challenges, and engage in knowledge-sharing and mentoring opportunities within the team.

To be successful in this role, you should have 1 to 3 years of experience in commercial software engineering roles, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software engineering fundamentals. Proficiency in Java (v17+) and Spring Boot is essential, along with hands-on experience with frontend technologies, preferably Angular or similar frameworks. A solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, relational databases with strong SQL skills, and exposure to NoSQL databases like DynamoDB is also required. Familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban and a passion for writing clean, maintainable, and testable code are important.

Awin offers a dynamic, social, and inclusive culture with a focus on work-life balance. Benefits include a flexible four-day work week at full pay, remote working allowances, health and wellbeing insurance covering various treatments for you and an additional family member, meal vouchers, and a remote working furniture package after three months of employment. We also have a peer-to-peer appreciation program to recognize and reward colleagues.
