Posted 1 month ago
Expires June 9, 2026

As a Quality Controller for the R4WO project, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all construction activities meet the project's specifications, Belgian standards (particularly SB250 and SB260), and safety regulations. This position involves close collaboration with execution teams, contractors, and project leaders to uphold the high-quality standards of this extensive infrastructure initiative.

Your primary responsibilities include conducting quality inspections across the 31 construction sites along the R4, identifying and reporting any deviations. You will proactively communicate your findings to the execution teams, compile detailed quality reports with accompanying photographs and technical documentation, and ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards throughout the project's execution. Additionally, you will work alongside contractors and engineers to implement technical solutions when deviations occur.

The ideal candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of Belgian standards, specifically SB250 (road construction) and SB260 (concrete and steel structures), and has experience with civil constructions such as bridges, tunnels, and culverts. You are a self-starter, capable of operating independently across the 31 locations of the R4WO project. Clear and respectful communication in Dutch is essential; proficiency in French and/or English is advantageous in this international context. Technical insight and a keen eye for detail are crucial for managing the complexities of this project. Familiarity with quality management systems (such as ISO 9001) and inspection tools (e.g., measuring equipment, reporting software) is required. A degree in civil engineering, construction, or a related field is a plus; equivalent experience is also valued. Knowledge of safety regulations (e.g., VCA certification) and experience in infrastructure projects around Ghent are strong assets.

This role offers a key position in the groundbreaking R4WO project, which aims to transform the R4 around Ghent. You will be part of a dynamic work environment that encourages initiative and professional growth. A competitive salary and additional benefits (such as mobility allowance) commensurate with your experience are provided. The position offers flexibility to work across the 31 locations along the R4, from Evergem to Zelzate and Wondelgem. Access to training and certifications to further develop your skills is also available.

BESIX fosters a safe and collaborative work environment, emphasizing ambitious and innovative goals for the future. Your career and personal development are important to us, and we seek individuals with diverse personalities, perspectives, and backgrounds. We value innovative ideas that contribute to building iconic and sustainable projects for tomorrow.
