Lead Data Center NOC Engineer
Armada is an edge computing startup dedicated to providing computing infrastructure in remote areas with limited connectivity and cloud resources, as well as locations requiring local data processing for real-time analytics and AI at the edge. The company is seeking a Lead Level 2 Data Center NOC Engineer to offer technical leadership and operational oversight across modular, edge, and distributed data center environments. This role is pivotal in leading incident response, mentoring NOC staff, and ensuring the uptime of critical infrastructure, including power, cooling, and networking systems.
The Lead Data Center NOC Engineer will act as the senior technical lead on shift, guiding and supporting Level 1 NOC technicians, serving as the primary escalation point for incidents, and leading shift handovers and operational decision-making. Responsibilities include serving as Incident Commander for medium to high-severity incidents, driving root cause analysis, and ensuring high-quality incident communications. The role also involves monitoring and troubleshooting physical infrastructure using PLC, BMS, and DCIM platforms, performing health checks on critical systems, and supporting modular and micro data center deployments. Additionally, the engineer will monitor and troubleshoot networking equipment, perform L2/L3 troubleshooting, and support automation, reporting, audits, and compliance requests.
Candidates should have over seven years of experience in NOC, data center, or infrastructure operations, with demonstrated experience leading incidents or technical shifts. Strong hands-on experience with DCIM/BMS platforms and advanced L2/L3 networking troubleshooting skills are essential. A solid understanding of power, cooling, and monitoring systems, along with the ability to interpret electrical one-lines and network diagrams, is required. Comfort with shift work and on-call rotations is also necessary. Preferred qualifications include certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, CDCTP, or CDCP, experience with edge/remote connectivity solutions, familiarity with Linux/Windows server environments, and basic scripting skills.
