Lead Engineer (Java)
Armada is seeking a seasoned Lead Java Engineer with over 12 years of experience to drive the development of scalable and high-performance backend systems. This role involves leading the design, development, and deployment of complex Java-based applications and microservices, providing technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, and collaborating with product managers, architects, and QA to deliver high-quality software products. The position is based in our Trivandrum, Kerala office.
Key responsibilities include architecting scalable, maintainable, and secure backend solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices in software development, conducting design and code reviews, and driving continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and systems. The Lead Engineer will also troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a focus on root cause analysis and long-term fixes.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with extensive experience in Java development, particularly with Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, and related frameworks. A deep understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and design patterns is essential. Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis), as well as CI/CD practices and tools like Jenkins, Git, Maven, Docker, and Kubernetes, is required. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is also important.
Preferred qualifications include experience leading distributed or cross-functional teams, knowledge of messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ, exposure to domain-driven design and event-driven architectures, and contributions to open-source Java projects or technical publications.
