Lead ML Engineer - Mapping
May Mobility is seeking a Lead Machine Learning Engineer specializing in mapping to join our team dedicated to transforming urban transportation through autonomous vehicle technology. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing advanced machine learning models that enhance our autonomous vehicles' mapping capabilities, contributing to safer and more efficient urban mobility solutions.
As a Lead ML Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include architecting and deploying production-grade lane and route network mapping systems, ensuring seamless integration with our broader autonomy framework. You will lead the research, design, and training of sophisticated neural architectures, such as vectorized mapping networks and multi-camera BEV transformers, to extract and model lane and route networks for both offline and online mapping applications. Additionally, you will oversee major feature developments from inception to deployment, including high-level architecture design, code reviews, automated testing, and technical resolutions.
The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field, coupled with a strong mathematical and engineering foundation. A minimum of 7 years of industry experience in developing and deploying machine learning or deep learning models for mapping or computer vision at scale is required. Expertise in areas such as vectorized mapping networks, BEV-based scene representation, temporal modeling, self-supervised learning, and multimodal sensor fusion is essential. Proficiency in ML/DL development using frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow, strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, and experience in modular software design within Linux environments are also necessary.
