Lead PC Support Technician
The Lead PC Support Technician at Public Storage is responsible for overseeing and coordinating technical support operations for both corporate and field desktop environments. This role involves providing expert-level support, mentoring junior technicians, and driving continuous improvement in end-user computing services. Key responsibilities include supervising, mentoring, and training PC Support Technicians, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance to ensure high-quality service delivery. The Lead Technician serves as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the PC Support ticket queue, ensuring timely and effective incident resolution and customer satisfaction. Collaboration with IT teams and business units is essential to align desktop support initiatives with organizational goals and IT strategies. The Lead Technician also liaises with vendors to evaluate new technologies, manage relationships, and recommend improvements.
The position requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in Corporate Desktop Support, including proficiency with Windows 11/10, Microsoft Office Suite, and Office 365 administration. Proven leadership experience in a technical support environment is essential. Strong knowledge of Windows Server OS, Active Directory, Group Policies, SharePoint Online, PowerShell scripting, and user account management is required. An advanced understanding of networking principles such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SMTP, VoIP, and monitoring tools is also necessary. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills are critical, along with a demonstrated ability to take ownership, drive initiatives, and deliver results in a lead capacity.
Public Storage offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $95,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Employees are expected to work in the office five days each week, with the option to take up to three flexible remote days per month. The office is based in Plano, Texas, east of I-75 near E. Park Blvd, just north of Historic Downtown Plano.
