Lead Software Engineer, Content
Sony Music Entertainment is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Content Product development team in New York, NY. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to build products that empower artists and record labels worldwide. As a member of the Product, Design, Engineering, and Global Operations (PDEGO) division, you will contribute to developing high-quality, robust user experiences that align with Sony Music's commitment to artistic integrity and innovation.
In this position, you will be responsible for contributing to all tiers of our architecture, writing clean and maintainable code, and working closely with product management to understand client requirements. You will design, communicate, and execute a vision in collaboration with your team and other teams across the technology organization. Additionally, you will participate in re-architecture, refinement, and technical design of various systems, and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning.
The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of software engineering experience, including implementing distributed systems and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript. Experience in building frontend applications using TypeScript, React, and GraphQL is essential. Familiarity with various database technologies like Neo4j, Kafka, MySQL, Snowflake, and Elasticsearch is required. A strong understanding of microservices, APIs, and related standards such as REST, HTTP, and OAuth, along with comfort in working with AWS Cloud technologies, is also necessary.
