Lead/Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure
Armada is seeking a Lead/Staff Software Engineer to join our Edge organization, focusing on Platform, Security, and Networking domains. This leadership role involves defining the architectural strategy for the Armada Edge Platform, integrating Azure Local, OpenShift, and Kubernetes clusters on a global scale. The position is based in our Bellevue, Washington office.
Key responsibilities include developing long-term technical roadmaps, mentoring a team of engineers, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence. The role involves architecting control planes and infrastructure services, creating unified APIs for deploying to various clusters, and engineering scalable Zero-Touch Provisioning workflows for bare-metal compute nodes. Additionally, the engineer will design software services in Golang and Python to automate the provisioning and lifecycle management of network devices, and implement Zero Trust security principles across the platform.
Candidates should have over 12 years of professional development experience, with a proven track record as a Staff or Principal-level engineer focusing on backend systems, distributed architecture, platform engineering, or network automation. Expert-level proficiency in Golang, experience with Kubernetes, Azure Local, or OpenShift architectures, and a strong understanding of Linux systems programming and networking protocols are essential. Leadership in implementing PKI, mTLS, and Zero-Trust principles is also required.
