Legal Administrative Assistant
Wilson Elser's Miami office is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to support its dynamic litigation team. The Legal Administrative Assistant will be responsible for preparing and drafting legal filings, formatting documents, pulling exhibits, proofreading, and redacting as needed. Additional duties include e-filing court documents in various state and federal courts, opening new matters, assisting in processing case closures, managing and organizing legal documents, coordinating and scheduling hearings, conferences, depositions, and maintaining attorney calendars. The role also involves providing administrative support to attorneys and paralegals to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in defense litigation, with insurance defense experience preferred. Trial experience is a plus. A strong knowledge of litigation procedures, including drafting and formatting pleadings, is essential. Familiarity with state and federal court rules, including e-filing requirements, is required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and time management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), and strong written and verbal communication abilities. A proactive mindset and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment supporting multiple attorneys are also important.
