Legal Clerk I – Civil Case Management Center
The Legal Clerk I position at the Civil Case Management Center involves providing administrative and clerical support within the Trial Division - Civil of the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania. This role is integral to the efficient processing of civil cases, ensuring that all legal documents are accurately managed and that communication between the court and external parties is maintained effectively.
Key responsibilities include acting as the primary point of contact for external communications, scheduling case management conferences, examining and processing legal documents submitted both in paper and electronic formats, and maintaining accurate records within the court's case management system. The clerk is also responsible for verifying the accuracy of court documents, managing filing systems with appropriate controls, and responding to inquiries regarding court documents and procedures.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with one to two years of progressively responsible clerical experience involving the processing of legal documents. Alternatively, equivalent combinations of training and experience that provide the necessary skills to perform the essential functions of the role may be considered. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly those related to case management, and strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
