Legal Counsel

Adyen is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join its global Deal Desk within the Commercial Legal team in New York. This role involves negotiating customer-facing contracts, primarily with enterprise clients, and providing strategic legal advice across various commercial functions. The position requires a proactive legal professional comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of complex, multi-jurisdictional commercial agreements for Adyen's payment, data, and financial services products. The role also involves advising on contract interpretation, managing early-stage customer disputes, and driving legal automation efforts to enhance the efficiency of the contracting process. Collaboration with sales, account management, product, and regulatory teams globally is essential.

Candidates should have at least five years of legal experience, either in-house or at a law firm, with strong commercial contracting and transactional experience. The ability to collaborate with legal counsels across various jurisdictions is crucial. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required, and any additional language skills are considered a plus. The role is based in New York, with periodic travel to other offices.
