Legal Counsel, IP
Anduril Industries is seeking a Legal Counsel specializing in Intellectual Property (IP) to join our dynamic Legal Team. This role is pivotal in managing and expanding Anduril's IP portfolio, ensuring alignment with our mission to revolutionize defense technology through advanced solutions. The position is based in Costa Mesa, California, and reports to the Senior Director of Risk, Compliance, and IP.
The Legal Counsel - IP will be responsible for developing, managing, and applying Anduril's IP portfolio in coordination with business, financial, and compliance goals. Key duties include overseeing patent efforts, monitoring for IP risks, leading or assisting in key IP negotiations, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Additionally, the role involves supporting customer growth by assisting supply chain and purchasing teams, managing relationships with government and commercial partners, and representing the legal team in interactions with various stakeholders.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier accredited law school and have at least 6 years of experience in U.S. IP law, particularly in patent prosecution. A deep understanding of patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and U.S. government data rights issues is essential. Experience in contract negotiation, especially concerning IP assignments, is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects independently, are crucial. Applicants must be licensed or eligible to practice law in California or Washington, D.C., and must meet U.S. Person status requirements due to access to export-controlled data.
Anduril offers a competitive salary range of $160,000 to $240,000, along with highly competitive equity grants.
