Litigation Paralegal (Construction Defect)
Tyson & Mendes, a nationally recognized law firm specializing in insurance defense litigation, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal with expertise in construction defect cases to join their San Diego, CA office. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside talented trial attorneys and legal professionals on high-exposure construction defect cases within a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
The Litigation Paralegal will assist attorneys with propounding and responding to discovery, including interrogatories, requests for admissions, and requests for production. Responsibilities also encompass managing trial preparation, coordinating witnesses and travel, preparing trial exhibits and notebooks, and handling subpoenas. Additionally, the paralegal will review, organize, and summarize construction documents, contracts, inspection reports, and other project files, as well as manage large volumes of discovery, including e-discovery platforms and privilege logs.
Candidates must possess a paralegal certification and have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably with experience in California litigation. A solid understanding of civil litigation procedures, including state and federal deadlines and rules, is essential. High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat is required, along with the ability to work independently, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities.
The compensation package includes an hourly pay range of $35-$46, depending on experience, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate as needed. Paralegals are eligible for an annual bonus ranging from $250 to $3,000 and receive a monthly technology reimbursement of $60.
