The Marine Methods Engineer at BESIX plays a pivotal role in planning and executing complex marine construction projects. This position bridges engineering and construction teams from the tender stage through project delivery, ensuring that construction methodologies are optimized for safety, efficiency, and compliance with design and contractual requirements. By translating technical concepts into practical solutions, the engineer contributes to the successful and cost-effective completion of marine works.
Key responsibilities include conducting constructability studies by participating in design coordination across disciplines to ensure feasibility and proposing design adjustments to facilitate construction. The role involves defining construction methodologies, logistics, equipment, and sequencing in collaboration with technical and planning teams. Additionally, the engineer is responsible for determining necessary site facilities, preparing and reviewing method statements and shop drawings, and implementing temporary works management plans in line with company guidelines.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of five years' experience in large-scale marine construction developments, preferably in design and build projects. Proficiency in producing and approving shop drawings and method statements, as well as organizing logistics and storage yards, is essential. Knowledge of marine, lifting, and piling equipment is required, along with prior experience in the Middle East.
