ML Platform / MLOps Engineer

Profluent is seeking an ML Platform / MLOps Engineer to join our machine learning team. In this role, you will collaborate with machine learning scientists, protein design scientists, and engineers to develop and maintain infrastructure that supports large-scale generative models for protein design. As an early team member, you will have significant ownership over the systems and tools that enable our research team to transition swiftly from experiments to production models.

Your primary responsibilities will include developing infrastructure that allows researchers to run large-scale machine learning training and inference workloads efficiently on GPU clusters. You will implement and maintain security best practices across our ML infrastructure, monitor and optimize infrastructure performance, and build and maintain machine learning pipelines to support model inference workloads. Additionally, you will implement CI/CD pipelines for machine learning models and services, and develop tooling that facilitates rapid progression from experiments to production models.

The ideal candidate will possess a BS in Computer Science or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience building or operating production ML systems. Experience with MLOps, ML infrastructure, or ML platform engineering is essential, along with strong experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably GCP). Proficiency in working with containerized workloads and orchestration systems such as Kubernetes and Docker, as well as experience building data or ML pipelines, is required. Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices is also important.
