NetOps Engineer in Test
Arista Networks is seeking a NetOps Engineer in Test to join our team dedicated to developing the next-generation network management system. This role involves collaborating with a design and test team that leverages state streaming, big data, and advanced analytics to enhance network operations for data centers, enterprises, and service providers. Our mission is to modernize network management by providing innovative provisioning and telemetry solutions for both on-premise and cloud environments.
The primary responsibilities include designing and executing system-level test cases to evaluate the scalability and performance of our management system under demanding conditions. The engineer will work closely with the development team to identify and resolve issues, conducting experiments and utilizing automation tools as necessary. Additional duties involve drafting comprehensive bug reports that detail system failures and their potential impact on customers, as well as collaborating with the Technical Support team to reproduce, debug, and address customer-reported issues. A strong passion for creating intuitive user interfaces and APIs that enhance user experience is essential.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, along with at least three years of experience, or a Master's degree in telecommunications, computer networking, or a related discipline. Required skills include experience in designing, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting IP and Ethernet networks, proficiency in multiple networking protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VRRP, LACP, STP, IP Multicast, ECMP, Port-Mirroring, QoS, VXLAN, MPLS, and EVPN. Familiarity with Linux operating systems and technologies like KVM, Docker, Kubernetes, Hadoop, and HBase is also necessary. Some experience with scripting languages such as Python or TCL is expected. Strong communication skills are crucial, and a CCIE certification is considered a plus.
Arista Networks offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $95,000 to $145,000, which varies based on work location and individual qualifications.
