Network Engineer
IMC is seeking experienced Network Engineers to join our Chicago office. In this role, you will collaborate closely with traders, developers, quants, and performance engineers to design, implement, and support the high-performance network infrastructure that powers our trading operations.
Key responsibilities include designing and supporting the North American networking environment, focusing on low-latency networking, unicast and multicast routing, BGP, PIM-SM, performance tuning, gap analysis, and automation. You will monitor and analyze network health, contribute to automation efforts using tools like Bash, Python, Ansible, and AWX, maintain precise documentation of network architecture and operational procedures, and collaborate with external vendors and service providers to evaluate and deploy new technologies.
The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of dedicated network engineering experience, exceptional troubleshooting skills across Ethernet LAN, unicast/multicast routing, switching, and packet analysis, and experience with diverse network switching hardware platforms. Hands-on scripting and automation experience with tools such as Python and Ansible is strongly preferred. CCIE or CCNP certification is a plus, and experience in trading or financial services is highly desirable.
This hybrid position requires an in-office presence in our Chicago office 3-4 times per week. The base salary range for this role is $155,000 to $225,000 USD. In addition to the base salary, all full-time, permanent positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits, including paid leave and insurance.
