Network Engineer in Test
Arista Networks is seeking a Network Engineer in Test to join our development team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with developers to identify and resolve software and hardware issues before they reach our customers. Our focus is on proactive, exploratory testing rather than repetitive manual regressions, ensuring our networking products meet the highest quality standards.
Your primary responsibilities will include designing and executing test plans to validate Arista's features and products. This involves creating test network topologies to assess functionality, performance, stability, and scalability. You'll work as an integral part of an agile team, participating in short development cycles to produce functional software iterations. Additionally, you'll assist developers in formulating automated tests to complement your exploratory testing efforts and provide customer-centric input during functional specification and software design reviews.
We require candidates with proven expertise in developing test methodologies and writing test plans. A strong understanding of networking technologies such as Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, IGMP, PIM SM/SSM, QoS, and L2-L3 protocols is essential. Experience with test tools like IXIA and/or Spirent is desired, along with familiarity with test automation tools and scripting languages. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, plus a minimum of three years of relevant experience, is required; a Master's degree is preferred. Strong communication skills are also essential, and CCIE certification is a plus.
