New York GFM Knowledge Lawyer
Clifford Chance, a leading global law firm, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced lawyer to join its Global Financial Markets (GFM) practice in New York as a Knowledge Lawyer. This newly created role aims to support and lead the development of associates, enhancing their technical and commercial skills within the GFM practice.
In this role, the Knowledge Lawyer will design, implement, and deliver structured training programs to build both legal expertise and commercial acumen among associates. They will act as a readily available resource, providing guidance on recurring legal and commercial issues, and collaborate with the Talent team to identify and address operational inefficiencies related to associate training and knowledge gaps. Additionally, the Knowledge Lawyer will develop and maintain a comprehensive suite of practice-specific resources, including toolkits, templates, checklists, and precedents, ensuring they are easily accessible and regularly updated to reflect current market practices and legal developments. They will also produce thought leadership pieces and practical guidance for associates, integrating innovative tools like AI, and promote a culture of continuous learning within the GFM practice.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school and be admitted to the New York Bar. They should have at least six years of experience practicing law, with a focus on transactional matters, and strong legal research and analytical skills. Experience in creating, managing, and updating training sessions for associates, as well as organizing and producing training sessions, briefings, and presentations for lawyers and clients on a broad range of legal topics, is essential. Preferred skills include being proactive, self-motivated, possessing strong interpersonal skills, and having excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation abilities.
Clifford Chance offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package for this role. The salary range is $230,000 to $285,000, with actual compensation commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
