As a Paralegal in the Compliance – Transactional Sub Division at Carta, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all transactions are conducted in full compliance with regulatory standards. In this role, your primary responsibilities will include conducting Know Your Customer (KYC) due diligence on complex asset management entities, analyzing transaction structures, and reviewing ownership and control structures of fund vehicles, SPVs, partnerships, and trusts. You will collaborate closely with private equity deal teams, legal, compliance, and counterparty teams to gather necessary documentation and ensure that all transactions meet Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), and other regulatory requirements. Your meticulous attention to detail will be crucial in identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with each transaction.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2+ years of experience in a legal or compliance role, with a solid understanding of legal administration, document review, and regulatory compliance. Strong analytical skills, the ability to work under pressure, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Familiarity with fund structures, offshore jurisdictions, or KYC screening tools is advantageous. An ICA or ACAMS certification is a plus.
