Payment Risk Operations Lead
Adyen is seeking a Payment Risk Operations Lead to oversee a team of analysts, ensuring compliance with card scheme regulations and managing high-risk entities. This role is integral to supporting Adyen's strategic growth while maintaining adherence to compliance standards. The position requires close collaboration with global teams, including Sales, Account Management, Engineering, Compliance, Partnerships, and Product, to align with payment partners and merchant objectives. Fostering cross-team collaboration and individual curiosity is essential for success in this role.
Key responsibilities include leading the team as a primary source of knowledge on scheme rules and compliance, driving global initiatives across integrity risk, data security, and operational risk. The role involves defining and communicating team objectives, tracking progress, and presenting results to senior leadership. Influencing the payments and scheme rules landscape through insights gathered from the merchant base, negotiating with partners, and collaborating closely with product and partnership teams to drive business objectives are also crucial aspects of the position. Additionally, engaging with payment method partners to resolve compliance topics, leading operational process improvements, recruiting and mentoring team members, and serving as an ambassador of the Adyen Formula are key duties.
Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of formal people management experience and a minimum of 7 years in payment operations within the risk and compliance space at a fintech or tech company. Strong problem-solving capabilities, the ability to define robust processes, and experience in building effective working relationships with external and cross-functional partners are essential. Serving as an escalation point for card network compliance challenges, possessing strong English communication skills, and being willing to travel both domestically and internationally are also required.
