Payroll Manager
Focus Financial Partners is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead and oversee the accurate and timely processing of multi-state employee payroll in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations, driving process improvements, ensuring strong internal controls, and serving as a key liaison between HR, Finance, and external vendors.
The Payroll Manager will provide strategic oversight of payroll administration, reporting, and compliance while delivering exceptional service to employees and leadership. This position plays a critical role within the Focus financial reporting team and contributes to broader operational and financial initiatives.
Key responsibilities include leading and managing the full-cycle payroll process across multiple entities and jurisdictions, ensuring data integrity for compensation changes, bonuses, commissions, benefits deductions, and employee status updates. The role also involves ensuring compliance with wage and tax regulations, managing payroll audits and reconciliations, preparing payroll-related reports, resolving complex payroll discrepancies, and optimizing payroll systems and workflows.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, along with over five years of progressive payroll experience, including oversight of multi-state payroll processing. Demonstrated knowledge of payroll tax regulations, experience with enterprise payroll systems like ADP, strong analytical skills, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and effective communication and collaboration abilities are essential.
The annualized base pay range for this exempt position is expected to be between $90,000 and $115,000, with actual base pay varying based on factors such as experience, expertise, and geographic location. The total compensation package may also include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
