People Compliance Lead (Remote)
The People Compliance Lead at ezCater is a pivotal role within the People Operations & Systems team, responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving compliance programs, controls, and policies to ensure the company's workforce management remains compliant and audit-ready. This position reports to the Senior Manager of People Operations & Systems and collaborates closely with stakeholders across People, Legal, IT, and Security teams.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining a People Compliance roadmap covering areas such as onboarding, I‑9/E‑Verify, pay transparency, policy attestations, and training. The role involves preparing and submitting federal employment reports, monitoring employment laws and regulations, maintaining the Employee Handbook, and establishing standard operating procedures (SOPs) that translate compliance requirements into streamlined employee experiences. Additionally, the lead will ensure that core people systems are configured in alignment with policy and compliance requirements, design and execute auditing cadences, and serve as a first-line escalation point for compliance issues and investigations.
The ideal candidate possesses over six years of experience in a people compliance function within a high-growth tech company. They should have strong proficiency in U.S. employment laws and regulatory frameworks, a track record of designing and conducting audits, familiarity with HRIS and ATS platforms (preferably UKG Pro, UKG Ready, and Greenhouse), and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into scalable processes and documentation. A strategic mindset, attention to detail, and a proactive approach are essential for success in this role.
