PKI Security Engineer, Product Security
Recorded Future is seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient PKI Engineer to join our Product Security team within the broader Security organization. Based in our Gothenburg office, this critical role will be instrumental in securing our global cloud infrastructure. The successful candidate will design, develop, deploy, and manage our internal Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), ensuring it meets the highest standards of security, availability, and scalability for all our cloud-native environments. This foundational role directly impacts the security posture of our product and the integrity of our data.
This hands-on engineering role emphasizes automation and operational excellence. Primary responsibilities include designing and implementing automated Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM) solutions, contributing to the architectural evolution of internal Certificate Authorities (CAs) and trust stores, and serving as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PKI and cryptography across the organization. The role also involves troubleshooting complex certificate-related issues, integrating modern security tooling related to PKI, hardware security modules (HSMs), and secrets management, and participating in the Platform Security team's daily operations, including on-call rotations and security incident response activities.
The ideal candidate will have over three years of relevant professional experience, a strong foundational knowledge of computer security principles, and in-depth expertise in PKI concepts, protocols (e.g., OCSP, CRL, SCEP, EST), and certificate management. Demonstrated experience with cloud-based PKI services, such as AWS Certificate Manager (ACM), is essential. Experience working with HashiCorp Vault is a plus. A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning new technologies, strong communication skills, and a background in coding or scripting are also desirable.
