The Principal Data Engineer at eClinical Solutions will play a pivotal role in delivering high-level technical consulting services and configuring the elluminate Clinical Data Cloud platform. This position involves collaborating closely with clients to develop and oversee projects related to trial configuration, quality control, project management, and system validation. The role is integral to enhancing clinical development initiatives by providing expert data services and advanced analytics.

Key responsibilities include functioning as a technical lead for consulting efforts related to clinical systems software, designing and developing reporting programs, and providing programming support for system configuration, data extracts, custom reports, and visualizations. The Principal Data Engineer will also manage and mentor technical resources, provide training services to internal and external users, and ensure compliance with industry quality standards and guidelines. Additionally, the role involves working closely with sales teams on staffing and project delivery services and defining processes to support new and existing modules in the elluminate platform.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of professional experience, preferably in a services or senior consulting role, and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. A minimum of 8 years in database design and development is required, along with experience in data warehouse architecture and development. Prior experience leading technical teams is advantageous. Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL programming, and familiarity with multiple database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, and Teradata is essential. Experience with data reporting tools like QlikSense, Tableau, and Spotfire, as well as knowledge of clinical trial data standards such as CDISC ODM, SDTM, or ADAM, is preferred.
