Principal Software Engineer CD
Harness is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead complex cross-platform initiatives within our engineering team. This role involves steering technical projects across geographies, representing senior technical leadership, and partnering with senior leadership to prioritize initiatives that align with the company's strategic objectives. Harness is an AI Software Delivery Platform company, dedicated to accelerating software delivery through AI and automation.
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will coordinate and propose collaborative efforts across multiple engineering teams, guiding team members to make well-informed decisions that align with strategic plans. You will proactively prevent redundant efforts by hardening existing assets for broad reusability. Mentorship is a key aspect of this role, as you will champion a culture of improvement and participate in resource planning, project mapping, and defining success criteria for large engineering initiatives. Additionally, you will solve complex technical problems, interface with senior engineering leadership on project deliverables, and lead innovation across Harness's portfolio of products and services.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of professional software development experience, with deep hands-on technical expertise in modern software delivery and building complex distributed systems. Proficiency in advanced Java, Golang, or comparable programming languages is required, along with a strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms. An advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is preferred.
