Product Counsel, Crypto
Figure is seeking a Product Counsel specializing in crypto to join its legal team. This role involves contributing to the development of Figure's innovative marketplace and products, focusing on issuing and trading digital assets, securities, and non-securities using blockchain technology. The position is open to both in-person and remote candidates, reporting to a Senior Counsel based in New York.
The Product Counsel will provide leadership in legal affairs related to markets and products, offering sound advice on federal and state securities, banking, and insurance laws. Responsibilities include delivering day-to-day legal, business, and strategic advice to internal market-focused teams, addressing challenges, and proposing solutions in the development and implementation of digital asset financial products and services. The role also entails offering comprehensive legal guidance throughout the product lifecycle, from conception to launch, operation, and eventual sunset.
The ideal candidate possesses deep financial markets experience in the securities and cryptocurrency industry, with at least 5+ years of experience practicing as either outside counsel or in-house counsel for financial services firms. Substantial subject matter expertise in securities matters, including the Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Investment Advisers Act of 1940, and Investment Company Act of 1940, is required. Experience working as an examiner, attorney, or industry specialist at a regulatory agency such as the SEC or CFTC is considered a plus.
Compensation for this role includes a salary range of $212,520 to $265,650, with a 25% annual bonus target paid quarterly, and an equity stock options package.
