Product Realization Specialist

The Product Realization Specialist at Newlab is a pivotal member of the Product Realization team, dedicated to supporting and advancing the Digital Fabrication facilities. This role is instrumental in maintaining shop infrastructure, assisting member prototyping efforts, and ensuring a safe and efficient fabrication environment within Newlab's dynamic ecosystem.

Key responsibilities include maintaining and troubleshooting various equipment such as 3D printers (FDM, SLA, SLS), laser cutters, CNC routers, and electronics lab tools. The specialist will perform preventive maintenance, conduct safety inspections, and manage consumables and equipment performance. Additionally, they will support members with 3D printing workflows, laser cutting, CNC routing, electronics assembly, and general fabrication planning, while leading onboarding trainings and promoting safe shop practices.

Candidates should possess at least 3 years of experience with digital fabrication tools and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems. Proficiency in CAD and CAM workflows using software like Fusion360, SolidWorks, or Rhino is essential, along with experience in electronics shop tools and an understanding of material properties and fabrication constraints. Strong customer service skills, organizational abilities, and a safety-conscious mindset are also required.
