Sr. Manager, Startup Deployment
The Senior Manager, Startup Deployment at Newlab New Orleans is responsible for attracting, retaining, and scaling early and growth-stage physical technology startups in Louisiana. This role involves working closely with startups to understand their technical and commercial needs and collaborating with regional stakeholders to develop viable localization pathways, including pilots, demonstrations, and initial commercial deployments. The position requires regular engagement with industrial site partners, government stakeholders, and local partners across Louisiana, and reports directly to the Managing Director.
Key responsibilities include supporting the sourcing, evaluation, and onboarding of startups aligned with Newlab New Orleans' focus areas, serving as the primary point of contact for startups exploring Louisiana-based market entry, and assisting with technical and project-level diligence to assess the viability of local deployment. The role also involves mapping commercialization and supply chain requirements, coordinating site visits, and facilitating technical scoping discussions with startups and regional ecosystem partners.
The ideal candidate should have 5-7 years of experience, preferably with venture-backed startups, and possess a strong understanding of technology commercialization barriers. Technical fluency and comfort engaging on topics such as energy systems, industrial processes, and infrastructure requirements are essential. Strong project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and experience building relationships with diverse public and private sector stakeholders are also required. Familiarity with Louisiana's industrial, energy, maritime, or manufacturing ecosystems is a plus.
Compensation for this role ranges from $115,000 to $150,000 per year, with eligibility for a bonus program. The position offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits. The role is in-person and based out of Newlab New Orleans.
