Python Engineer - Data Center Hardware Integration (Taipei)
Canonical is seeking a Python Engineer to manage and operate its Taipei lab, focusing on Ubuntu server certification for U.S.-based silicon and server designs. This role involves software-defined hardware management, development of data center automation tools, and collaboration with vendors to ensure efficient lab operations.
Key responsibilities include owning a fully automated server lab equipped with the latest server and network technologies, developing and enhancing the Metal as a Service (MAAS) software to support diverse hardware, integrating MAAS with testing and scheduling tools like Testflinger, and maintaining an organized and functional lab environment. The engineer will also standardize processes across data centers, improve hardware and network monitoring through automation, and keep asset management tools and firmware up to date.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, experience in Python programming and Linux administration, and familiarity with both rack-mounted and virtual systems. Strong time management skills, the ability to handle competing priorities, and effective communication in English are essential. The role requires collaboration with a globally distributed team and a willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events.
