Regional HR Manager - EMEA
Canonical is seeking a Regional HR Manager for EMEA to join its People team. This role involves leading the EMEA HR team to provide precise, compliant, and scalable HR operations, advising on HR issues across the employee life cycle, and partnering with senior leadership in the region. The position offers an opportunity to shape and create an HR function for the future within a globally distributed organization.
Key responsibilities include leading and scaling the regional HR team, delivering accurate and compliant HR operations, and collaborating closely with the broader People team to create cohesive processes across all regions. The role also encompasses accountability for HR processes such as talent development, succession planning, performance assessments, onboarding, and engagement initiatives that drive high-performing teams. Additionally, the manager will work with senior managers on performance management, organizational design, employee engagement, rewards, and workforce planning.
The ideal candidate will have an exceptional academic track record from both high school and university, HR experience leading initiatives across regions within a technology business, and people management experience. They should possess experience in business partnering with senior stakeholders, a balance between leading and executing daily HR routines, and experience working in a remote-first organization. The candidate should be able to leverage data to make informed decisions and have knowledge and practical implementation of HR practices and employment law across EMEA. Fluency in business English (written and spoken) and a willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events are also required.
