RMBS - Analyst / Senior Analyst (NY)
KBRA is seeking a credit analyst to join its Residential Mortgage-Backed Security (RMBS) team in New York, NY. This role involves collaborating with team members throughout the rating process, from collateral analysis to report publication. The ideal candidate will have experience in RMBS, knowledge of the residential mortgage sector, or related fields.
Key responsibilities include performing transaction analyses such as originator and servicer evaluations, loan pool assessments, bond structure modeling, and legal documentation reviews. The analyst will assist in preparing credit memoranda, presenting transactions to rating committees, contributing to transaction reports, publishing market commentaries, and conducting ongoing surveillance of rated transactions. Participation in seller and servicer due diligence, which may require travel, is also expected.
Candidates should possess a B.A. or B.S. degree in a relevant field. For the Analyst level, zero to two years of experience in credit analysis within the ABS sector at a rating agency, buy-side investor, credit research, or similar environment is required. For the Senior Analyst level, a minimum of two years of such experience or an advanced degree like an MBA is necessary. Strong Excel skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential. Proficiency in VBA, Python, R, SQL, and familiarity with mortgage datasets and tools are advantageous.
The anticipated annual base salary for this full-time position ranges from $75,000 to $95,000, determined by factors such as experience, skills, and geography.
