Metropolis is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead the timely and accurate preparation and review of monthly client statements in accordance with lease and management agreements. This role is integral to ensuring the financial integrity of our real estate partnerships, requiring a detail-oriented professional who thrives in an environment that values automation and process improvement. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with the Finance and General Accounting departments to meet critical deadlines with independence and precision.

Key responsibilities include preparing monthly reports of revenue, profit, rental, and fees due to or from real estate partners as per contract agreements. The role involves executing disbursements based on lease and management commitments, performing monthly reconciliations, and auditing financial statements to ensure reporting integrity. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will conduct account analysis, test accrual, receivable, and payable balances, assist with quarterly general ledger account analysis, support aged trial balance reviews, prepare monthly journal entries, and contribute to automation initiatives to streamline accounting workflows.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and have over four years of general accounting experience, including bank reconciliations, account analysis, and financial statement preparation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a general knowledge of computer systems are essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required for effective interaction with external clients and internal partners. A demonstrated understanding of journal entries and the flow of information through a general ledger, along with proven research and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve financial discrepancies, are also necessary. The candidate should exhibit a high level of organization and self-motivation, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and take full ownership of assigned responsibilities.

While not required, experience with SAP or Oracle systems is considered a plus.

The anticipated base salary for this position is between $100,000 and $110,000 annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by various factors, including the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base salary is one component of Metropolis's total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans, and more.
