Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)
Remote is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer proficient in Elixir to join our dynamic engineering team. As a fully remote company operating across six continents, we specialize in providing global employment solutions, enabling businesses to hire, pay, and manage international teams seamlessly. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex challenges that facilitate global operations for companies of all sizes.
In this position, you will lead the development of major projects, participate in cross-team initiatives, and contribute to building tools, APIs, and integrations for our HR and Payroll products. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing feedback on product work, suggesting technical solutions, maintaining a deep understanding of the team's domain, reviewing code, debugging issues, and mentoring other engineers. Additionally, you will be involved in designing and implementing APIs with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience as a Backend Engineer working with Elixir, including building, shipping, and maintaining complex software projects. Proficiency with Postgres (or similar databases) and CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins is required. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Next.js, or frontend frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular is a plus. Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of delivering secure, reliable, and scalable production systems are essential.
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $53,300 to $119,850 USD annually, along with stock options.
