Senior Construction Buyer (Oosterweel Project - Antwerpen)
As a Senior Construction Buyer at BESIX, you will play a pivotal role in the procurement processes for the Oosterweel Project in Antwerp. BESIX is a leading multidisciplinary Belgian group specializing in construction, real estate development, and concessions, with operations spanning across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The Oosterweel Project is a significant infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing Antwerp's mobility and urban landscape.
In this position, you will be responsible for developing and managing procurement plans for projects involving earthworks, demolitions, and civil works. Your daily tasks will include material take-offs from drawings and specifications, issuing supplier tender inquiries, analyzing bids, and negotiating purchase packages to ensure optimal quality, price, terms, and delivery schedules. Additionally, you will coordinate with suppliers to guarantee timely deliveries and address any site or supplier-related delivery and invoice queries. You will report directly to the Head of Purchasing for the Oosterweel Project.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or Finance and possesses 2 to 5 years of experience in construction procurement, preferably within infrastructure projects. A strong understanding of materials used in groundworks, excellent negotiation skills, commercial acumen, and proficiency in MS Office are essential. Fluency in Dutch and English is required, along with a collaborative mindset and effective communication abilities.
