Senior Counsel, Operations Legal
AbbVie, a global biopharmaceutical company, is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its Operations Legal team in North Chicago, IL. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support to various operational functions, including Contract Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Real Estate, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS). The Senior Counsel will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure legal compliance and support AbbVie's mission to deliver innovative medicines.
In this position, the Senior Counsel will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements. They will offer legal counsel on a wide range of business transactions and supplier issues, including dispute resolution. Additionally, the role involves managing and mentoring paralegals, external counsel, and contract attorneys, ensuring effective legal support across the organization.
Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction. A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in corporate or general transactional law, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in negotiating complex commercial agreements and providing strategic legal counsel on various business matters.
The compensation for this role ranges from $160,500 to $305,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
