Airbnb is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its Legal team, focusing on supporting new lines of business and addressing global legal issues related to supply, sourcing, licensing, trust and safety, consumer protection, platform policies, and more. This role involves collaborating with diverse international colleagues and requires adaptability, collaboration, and a commitment to Airbnb's core values.

The Senior Counsel will advise business, product, design, and engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle, providing strategic guidance to minimize legal risks while advancing business interests across multiple jurisdictions. Responsibilities include leading consensus-building across legal teams, coordinating advice on complex legal issues, drafting risk analyses, and managing outside counsel on complex research issues.

Candidates should possess a JD with 9-12 years of relevant experience in law firms, governmental agencies, and/or in-house legal departments, with in-house experience at a multinational, consumer-facing technology company in a product counseling capacity strongly preferred. Knowledge of regulations and industry guidelines related to internet platforms, such as consumer protection laws, GDPR, and CCPA, is essential. The role requires a pragmatic and self-motivated team player with a flexible and proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make decisive risk-based decisions independently.

The position is remote-eligible within the United States, with occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed upon with the manager. Candidates must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. The base pay range for this role is $208,000 to $253,500 USD, with potential eligibility for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
