Senior Counsel
Tyson & Mendes LLP is seeking a Senior Counsel to join their Albuquerque, New Mexico office. This role offers an opportunity to lead high-exposure insurance defense cases within a firm renowned for its innovative approach and commitment to stopping Nuclear Verdicts®. The position requires an active bar license in the State of New Mexico.
The Senior Counsel will independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials. Responsibilities include developing compelling case themes, managing all facets of discovery and trial preparation, and providing leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys. Routine communication with clients and cultivating relationships with existing and future clients are also key aspects of the role.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor from an ABA-approved law school and be licensed in New Mexico. A minimum of 8 years of solid litigation experience, particularly in litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation, is required. Experience handling insurance defense matters is preferred. Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills, are essential.
The base salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $170,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Attorneys are eligible for an annual billable hours bonus ranging from $10,000, with additional tiers aggregating $7,500 each.
