Senior Data Engineer
Experian is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Technology department. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment. The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing data engineering frameworks on HDFS, Spark, and EMR. Key responsibilities include developing and managing Kafka streaming and containerized microservices, working with RDBMS (Aurora MySQL) and No-SQL (Cassandra) databases, and utilizing AWS cloud services such as S3, EFS, MSK, ECS, and EMR. The role also involves ensuring application performance, quality, and responsiveness, as well as troubleshooting and resolving software defects and issues.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, along with over six years of software development experience. Proficiency in Spark and AWS is essential, as is working knowledge of Java or Scala. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to see the bigger picture and navigate through ambiguities. A willingness to support production schedules is also necessary.
