Senior Data Engineer
Metropolis is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and developing data products that align with our mission to create responsive artificial intelligence for the real world. Your work will impact thousands of internal users and millions of members, contributing to a future where seamless, checkout-free experiences are the norm.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop end-to-end data pipelines and foundational data sets. You will design and own data architecture for large-scale projects, build and optimize sophisticated data pipelines, models, and visualizations across multiple domains, and implement data security models to ensure privacy compliance. Additionally, you will mentor team members and maintain flexibility with availability during evening hours.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, with a master's degree preferred. You should possess over five years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, data warehousing, and ETL tools, working with large data sets in the cloud. Proficiency in Python, SQL, ETL/ELT, and data modeling is essential, along with hands-on experience with RDBMS such as MySQL, MS SQL Server, and Postgres. Familiarity with integration tools like Airflow and Automic, as well as a working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, is also required.
Metropolis offers a competitive base salary ranging from $160,000 to $220,000 annually, determined by various factors including qualifications, experience, and location.
